In this follow-up to The Love Hypothesis, Hazelwood again delivers a STEM-themed romance. This time, the story focuses on Elsie Hannaway, a theoretical physicist who moonlights as a fake girlfriend to help pay her bills. When she’s up for a coveted faculty position at MIT, she comes face-to-face with Jack Smith, her fake boyfriend client’s older brother, who also happens to be on the hiring committee. Their initial animosity turns into mutual respect—and eventually something more—as they navigate the complexities of love and science.
